    There's no sriracha sauce!! Every place that serves pho should have that. The soup in the pho was good but the dish was lacking meatballs, and the correct vegetables. There was only onions and cilantro in there. The pho here is not authentic and they should not claim to be. Maybe it's ok for first timers who don't know any better. I also got the French onion soup which was tasty and I enjoyed it. The onions were perfectly cooked, plenty of cheese, and bread was just right. I'll definitely be back to try the pastries and maybe other dishes that aren't Vietnamese cuisine.

    This place is somewhere I've wanted to try for a long time. It was worth the wait but such a shame it's taken us til now to get here. The food is excellent. Our waiter Brian was so nice. The ambiance and music were conducive with our meal. The brownie for dessert was the best EVER!!!

    WaaaaaBammm! The Asian Wings are killa Krisp light and loaded with Frenasian inspired flavors that send the buds to epicurean ecstasy! The funkified authentic Bun, pardon the absence of the acsentay gras, creates near orgasmic overload throughout the senses. If you miss the opportunity to dine at Alesia's you simply are failing to live!

    This place is beautiful! I went for lunch with my mother and aunt and we all got a different type of bún. The pork was by far some of the best pork I have ever eaten before. We finished it off with a dessert too. I, the bread pudding, and the other two had the chocolate mousse. We all had to decide that licking our bowls in public might be frowned upon. If you like fusion food or anything unique and local this is a must for a meal!

    Incredible, incredible, incredible! I ate here a while ago, and I had wanted to write a review right away but I couldn't remember the name of the place! Finally I have found it and I can sing my praises!!! First, as others have said, this place is spic and span, the decor is really pretty, and the ambience is great. The service is awesome and I love the french brasserie/patisserie feel that it evokes, but with fantastic vietnamese food items. Which brings me to the menu-IT IS FABULOUS. So appetizing, so delicious, you can't go wrong!! But if I had to say, the banh mi is my fav. Even though the location is a little out of the way, this place more than deserves a chance!!! Check it out!

    Went for breakfast and dinner -- simply amazing. For breakfast, my house-baked croissant with a perfectly fried egg, gruyere cheese, jambon de paris (ham), and arugula was breakfast excellence. My noodle bowl with duck was absolutely delicious as well for dinner. One of my friends got the Asian-style Beef Stew which may have been the best thing on the table, it was that good. One thing to note is their wine list -- a great eclectic selection with amazing prices. Their wines by the bottle seem to be priced with a retail markup, not the usual restaurant-gouging price. Some fabulous finds on this list -- try the Sancerre it absolutely sings with the food here. And yes, the prices here are ridiculously cheap, for such well-made, thoughtfully-prepared food. My noodle bowl was one of the most expensive things on the menu at just 9 dollars. For dinner. Keep in mind this is not a "Vietnamese" restaurant -- on the menu it notes that it is a fusion of the three owner's backgrounds, French, Vietnamese and Chinese.

    My wife and I had a fantastic lunch at Alésia. The place looks great, very light, bright and trendy. But for having such an upscale feel, the prices were very reasonable. We started with the summer rolls, which were very fresh tasting, with shrimp, pork, rice, and a touch of mint. We had a carafe of their organic green tea with citrus and ginko. It was not overpowering, but had great flavor and really complimented the summer rolls as well as the rest of the meal. We are both big fans of Pho, so my wife ordered that and I got the bánh mì. My sandwich was excellent, with pâté and salami going nicely with the spice of the jalapeño. My wife's Pho was good, but didn't come out hot so she sent it back for a reheat. Being summer in Florida, I'm sure not everyone wants piping hot soup, but that is how my wife likes it, and they were very pleasant about doing it. The Pho had a bit of sweetness to it which was different for us, but we did quite like it. We are looking forward to going for breakfast soon, since their morning items look excellent, and different from the usual choices. We are also hoping it will cool down soon so we can sit outside in their lovely courtyard. I would highly recommend going to Alésia as soon as possible.

    This place is good for being the only Vietnamese restaurant on this side of town, but not awesome. Service is decent, maybe a little slow. First we ordered the summer rolls, which were really good. These I liked. They didn't really need the addition of the chicken though, they would have been fine with just the shrimp. As someone who eats a lot of pho, I was excited to see a place on this side of town that served it. But honestly their pho was just average. The broth was ok but lacking something, and they served it with beef brisket by default with no other options for types of beef. I prefer eye of round, flank, or skirt to brisket. You got a wedge of lime, and a little split plate with some sort of pepper sauce and hoisin. I'm used to the places that leave a bottle of sriracha and hoisin on the table. Alesia is a trendy style restaurant so I can see why they'd want to serve it on a little split plate. It didn't come with a plate of basil/bean spouts/etc either, and while that's not too important, I do like the restaurants which provide them, because I like to add them to my soup. I ordered a small pain au chocolat to go, and it was good but a little bit heavier than it should be. Overall I'd come back simply due to the location and lack of other choices in the vicinity. But I know there are restaurants on the other side of town and I'd be more inclined to check them out the next time I'm visiting.

    Delicious food and friendly service! I loved the summer rolls, the chicken salad, the mushroom soup (it was a daily special), and the arugula salad with dijon vinaigrette. Great coffee, as well. I also ordered the croque madame once. I didn't realize it came with mushrooms -- I am a mushroom lover, but I like my croque monsieurs a little junkier than that. :-) Next time, I'd hold the mushrooms (or just order their chicken salad again, which is incredible -- it does have raisins, which I like, and it comes on fantastic bread). My friend ordered the charcuterie platter, which had some great meats on it. All in all, can't wait to go back. Luckily, their prices are great, so I can!

    I am on a huge vietnamese kick and am trying to eat at the majority of the restaurants in the area. I've heard great things about this restaurant and I am happy to say it didn't dissapoint. My friend and I both got the Pho and said that it was one of the best we had every tasted. The broth was really clean tasting and had great flavor. The noodles were great and there was a perfect ratio of broth to noodles. The only complaint is that they didn't provide a side plate with greens to put in your soup. Just not something they do at this restaurant. I will definitely be back and really want to see how the Vermicelli stacks up against the Pho. Also, really cute, french style interior and outside patio. Can't wait to return!

    I had a party for my boyfriend's 60th birthday . Sandra and her staff served our guests with delicious food and amazing service. The 20 people that attended were waited on efficiently and accurately. Our food was served promptly and together. When it was time for dessert, the dark chocolate croissant that I had ordered for everyone came out still warm from the oven!! The staff was able to handle our separate checks with ease. We have often enjoyed Alesia and were so glad we chose it for this special occasion. Our many thanks to Sandra and her staff for making our evening so wonderful!

    Wandered in here while running some errands, so glad I did... it's one of the best finds I've had recently. As soon as I walked in, I felt a nice breezy welcome by both the ambiance of the place and the servers. Clear high white walls accented by simple vibrant paintings and plain wood tables. The servers were punctual, helpful and very friendly throughout. I've found that Vietnamese places have a tendency to be somewhat tacky, but there was none of this here. Ordered spring rolls, not excellent but good. The pho was delicious, basic beef green onions and noodles in broth. One of the servers offered me a lesson on how to use the sauces correctly, even though I am quite familiar with it. It was a nice touch. The drip coffee iced has a great kick but very tasty, thought about ordering a second... There's a nice patio outside, hopefully I'll enjoy some good times there once the outside temp of St. Pete gets somewhere below the surface of the sun. Westside St. Pete/Gulfport/Pasadena totally needs some diversity like this. Please give it a chance if you're in this neck of the woods!

    Good place. Food is fresh and tasty. A little expensive but it has a nice ambiance and the food is good. The lobster bisque is very rich. The pho is good. I'm used to all sorts of accompaniments being served with it such as fresh basil, jalapeño, bean sprouts and a variety of sauces to spice it up as you will. Nothing was served with this. I love the Vietnamese coffee. The egg rolls are okay. I miss the ones I used to get in SF, served with mint, pickled carrots and lettuce.

    We love this place. The Pho is simply delicious and they obviously take their time and make flavorful broths which enhance all of the soups. We bring our foodie NY friends here when they visit and they LOVE this place. Attentive service, nice atmosphere and terrific food. One of our top 3 restaurants in St. Pete.

    We thought we would check out the new restaurant at our end of St Pete (we need more restaurants on the west side!). The atmosphere has a country chic vibe to it with high ceilings and lots of windows. We tried the Pho at other yelper's recommendations. We were not disappointed. Prices were very reasonable. Two people at our table ordered the bahn mi sandwich and one person ordered the egg salad. Egg salad sandwich looked like it came from my childhood. The bread was fresh with a crusty crust and the egg salad was delicious. We had spring rolls and egg rolls too. Everything was fresh and delicious. We'll definitely return.

    We had always had great food here from an interesting menu, so much so that I once told the kitchen they had served me the best sandwich of my life. It seemed like the obvious choice to spend our thirtieth anniversary there. The waitress remembered us which was the only good thing About the evening. First of all it was only six p.m., and they were already out of their signature lobster bisque. So we ordered those to die for rib sandwiches, but this time the meat was so full of gristle we had to spit it out and left it all on the plate. When we questioned the waitress about the unchewable food, she offered no explanation or apology. She just simply handed us our check in full. I thought it over and decided that I would let the manager know how we were treated because I hated losing our favorite spot. Even though I was not angling for it she said she would send us a free coupon. It never came, and we are never going back

    A complete gem. We had Vietnamese Chicken Salad, Parisian Hot Dog, and Chicken Salad Sandwich and we could hardly sustain conversation because we were so delighted with our food. Service was good, and the atmosphere was lovely. Prices were amazing - three people ate well at lunch for $30! If I lived here I'd be here twice a week at least.

    Had a wonderful banh mi for lunch along with spring rolls and mushroom soup. BYO wine allowed with $10 corkage. Outdoor seating is very pleasant. But the food was so fresh and light and delicious; I am so glad to have this in my neighborhood. Bravo!

    Great service, comfortable, clean, stylish space. Food ranged from good to great. On the lower end, the baby bok choy was watery and overpriced at $11. The beef stew was tasty. Pot stickers were good (although I bit into a strange bone), pumpkin soup was great. Brownie for dessert was very good. All in all, a very good place for lunch or dinner. Fresh, interesting food and a friendly staff. Nice outdoor area, too.

    I love coming to Alesia! The atmosphere is so adorable and the staff is always friendly. For starters, the shrimp chips are crispy and refreshing and the Vietnamese drip coffee iced is my favorite drink there! As for entrees, I have been getting the egg roll bun for a while now because I absolutely love it, but today I found another favorite. I ventured out of my norm and got the crepe wrap during brunch. It was very flavorful and light. So delicious! Also, my boyfriend is hooked on the traditional sandwich with prosciutto. I look forward to the days we plan to eat here! Oh and don't forget to get a chocolate croissant!!

    I ordered the Pho based on the other reviews I read. So glad I did! It tasted fresh and delicious. I ordered the traditional beef and brisket. Perfect balance of meat, cilantro, green onions and loads of rice noodles. I am definitely visiting again when I return to the area. I also recommend the egg rolls appetizer. The order comes with 3 perfectly crispy, tasty rolls.

    I have been thinking about the dessert at Alesia ever since I dined there. The stuff dreams are made of. I am so excited to finally try this place after various friends recommended it and frequent it. I am already plotting my next trip. First, I give them credit for creativity. I can honestly say this is the first French/Vietnamese inspired restaurant I have ever known. Second, I give them credit for an excellent craft beer list. I am always impressed when small establishments have great craft beer with limited space. Third, the outside garden dining area is very enjoyable and makes you completely forget you are on Central. And fourth and most importantly, the food was exquisite. Where to start? I had a spring roll with shrimp that was SO GOOD. The peanut and hoisin sauce is the best I have had in a while. Great start to the meal. Then I wen to the Bun with mushrooms and bac choy with an egg. Really, great flavors and textures. But all this food, while very, very good pales in comparison to the dessert. I think I could eat it every day and maintain the same level of excitement, but alas it was on the special menu. It was a sweet and creamy blue cheese with honey comb, fresh bread, and grapes. It sounds simple but the combination was divine. We both ordered our own and while Krystle and I get along well without conflict, this dessert was so good there is no way we would not secretly resent the other for eating more than half if forced to share! One last notable: on the porch (I think I referred to it as garden dining area earlier) there was a very eclectic group of individuals. This is a place that attracts college presidents and students alike and everyone in between. I cannot wait for my next visit!

    Close But No Cigar. I drove quite a distance to reach Alesia, drawn on by the promise of "the best French Onion Soup" and St. Pete's "best Bahn Mi." Neither was as hoped for.. The soup portion was enormous. Easily two servings worth but it's primary flavor was sweet, cloyingly sweet. I suspect that they used sweet onions rather than drawing the sugars out of regular onions. The result was just too sweet and the onions and cheese were scant. The Bahn Mi was skimpy too. The BBQ pork was tasty and the roll was delicious but the fried egg was overdone and there were simply not nearly enough vegetables or herbs. What a let down. I did enjoy the potstickers, which were flavorful and generous. On the server's recommendation I ordered the banana chocolate chip bread pudding which was bland, gummy and really felt like a not too tasty, leaden banana muffin. After three bites I opted to just eat the ice cream. I drove across town to get there but I wouldn't do it again.

    Nice place for a date IF you sit outside. 4 stars for the pho (beef noodle) and bun thit nuong (grilled pork and vermicelli) (if you're used to Vietnamese. 2 stars for the beef stew. No herbs, no bean sprout, not rich in flavors. 5 stars for flan. Exactly what I would get in Vietnam; even the aftertaste is the same. 4 stars for ambiance but very noisy inside due to construction of the room; nothing to dampen the echoing of noises. Outside looks lovely. 4 stars for service. Although, our waiter needs know what Sriracha is . They don't have it. PARKING - There's about 3-4 spots right in front of the restaurant. Will go back to try other dishes.

    I am well versed in Vietnamese food, eat it probably one-two times a month, and I can't seem to stop my addiction. For an American-ish Vietnamese-French restaurant I was pretty satisfied. The potstickers are really good. Not what one traditionally things of but some of the best I've ever had. Everyone at our table agreed. We also got the vegetarian spring rolls, but I didn't have any of those. But the peanut sauce was really good. My boyfriend always gets the beef stew and raves how unique it is. I wouldn't say they are flavors I've had in a traditional Vietnamese restaurant but it's pretty good, a little rich for my palate. I ordered the bun bowl with pork and an egg. The pork skewers are large and not the easiest to get off. I lost a quarter of my pork to the floor because it was difficult. The flavor was good, I just wish the pork wasn't as dry or had a sauce on it. But I'll order it again. The star of my meal? French onion soup! It comes in a giant coffee mug and was just what the Dr ordered. There is also bacon in it. Winning! We ordered a Nutella and banana crepe to go, which was OK. Nothing to write home about in my opinion but wasn't bad. Our overall experience was good, our waiter was great in the beginning and very slow by the end of our meal. It seemed to take a long time for our entrees to come out, all three of us were wondering what was taking so long. There didn't seem to be a lot of people inside but there is a cute patio which could have been busy. I would say try it, but make sure you don't have any plans directly after your meal.

    This review encompasses two different visits. Went for dinner at 6. Had to wait for an hour for a table. We waited outside and had some wine. There is no happy hour. I had the French onion soup which was fantastic! The table also had egg rolls, summer rolls, ribs, cheese plate and beef stew. Everyone loved their food and the cheese was FANTASTIC. I also had chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert. Loved it. Today we went for lunch because I was craving that French onion soup. They don't serve that at lunch :/ I ended up getting lobster bisque which was good and summer rolls. Summer rolls have good texture but are basically tasteless if eaten without the peanut sauce. My wife got the BLT and it was so tiny. Came with no side. It was more appetizer size. I will go back but only for dinner. I have to have that soup again!

    If you're looking for a tasty pho that isn't packed with MSG, then head to Alesia. The broth is subtle with a great natural flavor and. All of the ingredients are extremely fresh. I'm a big fan of their beer and wine selection as well. It doesn't get much better than good pho and good drinks.

    Come here Saturday for their brunch. If you don't know what to get, get their crepe. It's filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and a really good sauce. Not too heavy, but just enough food to keep me full. I had the Vietnamese drip coffee which was soooo good. It's a strong brew that drips down into a mug with condensed milk at the bottom. The mimosa was 7 bucks which I thought was a little pricey, but the rest was fairly priced

    Egg rolls ($3/3) Crispy rolls that were packed in with pork and shrimp were delicious. I liked especially the strong flavor of shrimp coming through. It should be a must to have. Lobster Bisque ($3/S) Unfortunately I couldn't have a chance to taste it because he drunk it fast. My hubby really enjoyed this creamy soup. Classic (traditional) Pho ($8.5) It came with a good amount of satisfying beef. I choose Traditional (lean beef & brisket). I liked the one with fat better. The collagen (connective tissue) between meat and fat create enjoyable soft-chewy textures when cooked for a long time, dig that texture. Sadly the soup that was served to me wasn't what I was used to. Alésia's soup was very sweet. The owner might be from the southern Vietnam, but lacking to serve less herbs were not but it is a good American Pho. To balance off its sweetness of the soup, I looked for our waiter or anyone that coud bring some more lime to cut that sweetness but not so successful. There was a small (1/8) lime on the side with Hoisin and Sriracha(?) sauces that came with the pho but it was definitely not enough for this sweet soup. I didn't want the noodle to get soggy so I picked up the noodle with chopsticks but the noodles were not loosened and stuck together, not good. Alésia's Pho is different from most authentic pho. The essential fresh basil and mint leaves, bean sprouts, and chili peppers are omitted, not serve with a bowl but instead, some of the garnish (cilantro and green onion) were pre-mixed in a bowl but I do like the one long green onion in the soup. That natural sweet worked with this soup well. After the main, we got a dessert to share but one silverware was brought to the table, even we told we share. Iced green tea was yellow tea and was boring. I wish there was some mint leaves in the pitcher to heighten the flavor. Service: Although all the servers were brisk and nice but not paying much attention after ordering (the staff members need to be trained by a floor manager). Those willing to work staffs have a monovision service, only eyes on what's front of them and often not on customers but they performed well when I was in their monovision state. I wanted to give a good four star review since it is a charming place in the area and near from the beach hotels/tourists island, Treasure Island, but some needed to improve.

    Meh. Was not at all impressed with my recent visit here and I had been dying to check it out for so long. My husband and I met up with a friend for dinner. They told us we would have to wait for a table and did offer us drinks, which I thought was great. However, we waited for 20-30 minutes and someone finally said "oh, there has been a table we could have already seated you at by now." When we finally sat down and ordered more drinks, the service was very slow. I felt as though I was in a brand new restaurant and also felt somewhat rushed to order after we sat down. I ordered the vegetable sandwich as my entree (since I do not eat meat) and it came out more like melted cheese and vegetables on hoagie roll. In other words, it wasn't exactly a sandwich. It wasn't bad - just not great for the asking price. My husband and friend found their entrees to be just okay as well. Based on my experience and all the positive reviews, I was expecting more. I may be willing to try it again in the future.

    Alesia is a cute place, nice relaxed atmosphere. I've been here twice and both times I sat outside in the adorable patio that was light up with white lights. Tonight my friend and I each had a glass of wine, I love the large wine glasses. The wine was pretty good. I ordered the Vietnamese salad and my friend had the pho. My salad was good, nice tangy vinaigrette over crispy lettuce, onions , carrots and shredded chicken. The salad could have used a little more chicken on it. My friend said pho was good but missing veggies. It had onion, noodles and some beef and a few herbs. Where are the bean sprouts, jalapeño, basil ? It was also served with hoisin sauce but no Sriracha. Service was okay but could have the server could have been a little more attentive. We arrived 35 minutes before they closed but they seemed more focused on doing the things required for closing then customer service. pretty good but not great.

    The food was perfect and the service was top-notch. Everyone in our group ordered something different and no one was left disappointed. From the Saturday morning brunch menu, I had a breakfast sandwich. It was on the fluffiest most perfect homemade croissant with applewood smoked bacon. Yum! Also, the Vietnamese coffee was strong and delicious...definitely worth a try! The inside of the restaurant feels very open and airy. I noticed a garden dining area, as well, that I'd like to try when it's a bit cooler outside. Overall, no complaints, except I wish they were open on Sundays!

    I was lucky to find Alesia in my two years living in St. Pete, Florida. I love the food, people, and atmosphere there so much. I went back last weekend but too bad Alesia closes on Sunday and Monday. I live in Atlanta now and cannot find any Vietnamese restaurant here that meets Alesia's service even though there is a large Vietnamese community here. I have been to more "upscale" Vietnamese restaurants and always felt they were trying too hard. At Alesia, I always felt at home (a pretty home) and the food was always fresh and delicious (and very affordable). Will plan our weekday visit so that we can eat there again soon

    So far my favorite restaurant in St. Pete! Very bright, eclectic, cozy environment with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Went there with family and we tried the Asian beef noodle stew, Traditional pho, lobster bisque, egg rolls, spring rolls, bok choy with shrimp, and Bun with shrimp & pork. All were excellent with great flavors, pretty authentic Asian but with a French twist! Excited to come back and try their brunch & desserts.

    Another exquisite dinner here. Sirloin ribs for my partner, prosciutto salad for me. Preceded by cream of mushroom soup that is a frequent visit to the soup of the day board (MUST HAVE MORE). A glass of wine, a soothing patio with soft jazz and an Asian garden cum backyard comfort setting. Makes you forget all of the troubles of your day or week. Well done.

    In a whim while at a nearby beach, we decided to try out some of the local fare. After looking at the awesome reviews, I checked out alesia's menu and was quite intrigued. It's the first time I've ever run across a restaurant that has almost an equal amount of traditionalish French offerings and Vietnamese standard fare. So what we ordered: We started out with the crispy spring rolls which were homemade, fresh, hot and crispy. The sauce has the distinctive stinky twang of fish sauce and was as good as I've had in any Vietnamese restaurant. My husband opted for the bbq style pork bahn mi. He went with the spicy house spread and opted to add the egg. He was glad he did. He said it was possibly the best Vietnamese hoagie he's ever had. I went with the wonton noodle soup. It was full of chicken and shrimp, and unlike the traditional Hong Kong style version it wasn't bland at all. Instead, it has the well salted, slightly sweet, umami filled taste of pho broth. Probably because that was the broth base they used for this soup. Loved it. We will definitely be back!

    Went there for a birthday dinner. There were 24 people in our party on Friday evening and they were able to find room for all of us by pushing tables to create a long one. The prices were good and everybody's meal was delicious (as far as I know). We had shrimp chips as appetizer (my hubby and I). He's British, so he loved those because they reminded him from meals back home. I thought they were great too. His French onion soup (that he loved) had a bit too much of a sweet aftertaste for me. My pho with chicken was great! The portion was huge and I just couldn't finish it.

    One of my favorite restaurants in all of St. Pete. This hidden gem is a bit off the beaten path (Pasadena) but is well worth the trip from downtown. The menu may not be extensive, with pages and pages of options but the items included are top notch. Personal favorite is the Bahn Mi sandwich, I prefer the grilled pork with an egg and served spicy (not really that spicy). This sandwich is an inexpensive option that never disappoints. The crusty bread and fresh vegetables are a perfect compliment to the meat and leave you feeling full but not heavy. Another great item is the Au Gratin Potatoes. These are a side dish that accompanies the short ribs but I have ordered them as a side for other meals because they are just so delicious. The sliced layers of potato almost seem like art and the sauce is a great compliment. Alesia, with its great menu, affordable prices and warm atmosphere (French country house) is a perfect date night destination or a relaxed option for a group looking for a quality meal and overall experience.

    Pretty, understated Alésia is easy to miss on the side of Central Avenue as you're heading towards Treasure Island, but after a visit or two, you won't pass it by again. Alésia manages to produce entrees that are both refreshing and full of flavor. A perfect example would be the bún with pork skewer. The pork is tender and provides a punch of flavor to the crisp lightness of the bún. I could eat an endless bowl of it. 'Traditional' Banh Mi has a European edge to it that I personally favor - the cold cuts are very fresh and of the highest quality, and the (optional) spicy sauce is pleasingly mouth-burning. I think a small side of soup or salad would be most welcome alongside the banh mis, especially for the supper menu. The "chicken noodle soup" has a generous quantity of fresh white meat and, lurking at the bottom of the deep bowl, a copious amount of glass vermicelli. The broth, again, is full of flavor, if a touch too oily. The little parmesan gougères (french cheese puff pastries) were a special that night, and I wish we'd had a basketful. They were so good! The desserts are perfect little meal-closers, my favorite is the chocolate mousse - you can tell it's freshly made, never overly chilled or stiff. It's incredibly light to the point of being insubstantial, but the flavor is rich and deep. The banana spring rolls, sprinkled with blanched sesame seeds, are a fun change of pace. The portions here are "just right," that is to say, on the smaller side. It suits the careful plating and choosing of ingredients, but if you're looking to fill up, best to look towards the more filling pho and noodle dishes. Brunch is a specialty on Saturdays, with the stuffed egg, ham and cheese crepes, custardy sourdough french toast, and monte cristo sandwiches (they're not so easy to find these days). One of the best features of the entire menu, for me, is the Vietnamese drip coffee - I like to leave the bottom layer of condensed milk for last, it makes for a sweet ending. Speaking of endings, a really nitpicky thing to point out, but it leaves me a little mystified: those cheap Starlite mints with the bill. Sure, they're complimentary and you can just leave them, but it's so strange to me that they'd want to follow up all those delicate and brilliant flavors with a cheap, sticky Brach's candy? Man, even meltaways would be better... yeah, I told you it was nitpicky! But seriously, the servers are nice, the atmosphere is tranquil, you'll find yourself going out of your way to come back here.

    Finally - a degree of culinary sophistication hits the gulf shores! No sign of grouper sandwiches or fish net decor here. Only a menu that offers us locals a fresh new taste sensation; in a bright and contemporary setting where local art adorns the walls. What's more the staff were sweet and attentive. I was desperate to like this place and they well exceeded my expectations.

    I've tried this place at least 3 times and the only reason that I would go back now, would be to order out their nutella crepes; only on the basis that I can't make that myself. I've tried the egg rolls as an appetizer and it worked out well. Their banh mi was missing something, which took away from the whole food experience for me. The pho, as mentioned previously by an earlier reviewer, was not good. It was definitely missing things that one would find in a traditional Vietnamese pho. The previous reviewer also noted that they substitute a chili dipping sauce instead of sriracha. I've tried their pho twice and for both times, I was given the chili sauce. To some, it may not matter or others simply may not care for a spicier palate. I prefer keeping the food as culturally authentic as possible, which is reflected in my rating. The service was hit or miss for me for all of my experiences. I've had moderate service to poor service. As a nearby resident, I would rather make the 30 minute drive into Pinellas Park for the real authentic pho and banh mi, versus the 3 minute commute from my home to this establishment. Having only a meager handful of choices for seemingly authentic food for a higher beach premium isn't worth it for me. The cost of a single banh mi alone is almost double what one would pay at another place, if you knew where to look. At least 3 cafe's in Pinellas Park may charge about the same amount, but at least there is some better authenticity there. This place definitely seemed to be aiming towards a different demographic, food wise and palate wise. I was overall disappointed with the food. Personally, I would not go back here nor could I recommend this place to anyone that values cultural authenticity and taste, over location or ambiance. If I wanted a crepe, sure, I would be willing to call in that order, but alas, I have found myself content with nutella on a piece of bread. If you just so happen to be nearby or want to try it, I leave it to you. I've traveled a lot and have eaten my way through a fair amount of cultures. This one ranks towards the bottom of the experiences for me. Until they fix their menu and stark authenticity issue, I will not be going back.

    Excellent service, phenomenal food.. We tried several wines, the potstickers, egg rolls, caprese salad, pho, crepes & iced coffee--everything was amazing & reasonably priced. The food came out really quickly & our server was super attentive. Great patio seating! I'd recommend getting there early-ish if you want to score a parking spot in their small parking lot.

    What a treat it was to enjoy a Saturday lunch at Aleia! We were not disappointed. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere inside and out. We had the summer rolls as our starter. So fresh and you felt good for eating them! The Peanut sauce, you could eat it with a spoon! Main dishes: Prosciutto Spinach Salad - they even mixed in some spring leaves per my request which was FAB! Please see photo. Pho soup for my hubs - loved it and slurped up every last drop of the broth :) With plenty of beverages to choose from, you are sure not to go thirsty either. So many great things to go back for, we cannot wait until our next visit!

    I guess this is what I get for reading reviews made by non-Asians (no racist). I say this because the food here was very Americanized. I was very disappointed because of this. First off, this establishment does not have any Sriracha sauce. I've never been to a restaurant that sells pho and not have Sriracha. To this moment, I still can't wrap my head around that. Instead, when I asked for Sriracha sauce, the waitress handed me a silver container of chili sauce that does not even resemble it. This sauce was fine with my dipping sauce for the egg rolls but is not ok with my pho. Now, the pho. The only veggies you will find in your bowl of pho is red onions and green onions. And maybe a pinch of cilantro. Real Vietnamese pho has bean sprouts, Thai basil leaves, green onions, cilantro, and sliced jalapeno peppers. So as you can tell, I was very confused when I dove into my bowl of imitated pho. The broth was a little too sweet for me and there was no soy sauce around for me to fix it. There was only sliced beef in it as well. No meatballs (which are my favorite) or tendons. Other than pho, my friends are I ordered the fried egg rolls, summer rolls, and onion soup. The egg rolls and onion soup were delicious. The egg rolls were cooked to perfection and the meat (I believe pork) were flavorful. Onion soup was the bomb diggity. Summer rolls were good. Can't really go wrong there. I liked the peanut sauce and of course with these type of dishes, the sauce is everything. Service was good. A little slow, considering there was not a lot of customers at the time and they had plenty of workers around. I guess the only time I would come back is to try the desserts and pastries. Hopefully those won't let me down.

    The freshest food around! Top ingredients in all their dishes I keep going back for the bun with grilled pork skewers because it has so much flavor. The cheese plate yummy creaminess. Dumplings are excellent meat to wrap ratio is spot on and yes they are fried but greasy. Wine options are excellent and at a great price too! Love this place!

    Great food, we had the summer rolls (chicken and shrimp) and they were good, fresh and tasty. Our entree was the bok choy and it was delicious. Finished with a hot brownie a la mode that was fantastic. The decor us light and modern. They have a large beer list and an expresso bar. Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely go again.

    Why 3 stars? Because it's a solid lunch spot. --- --- --- Ever since I learned of this French/Vietnamese spot in St. Pete, I was very excited to check it out. The only problem is that it's not exactly in a part of town I frequent often... but after a trip to St. Pete beach, it was perfect to check out on my ride home. I have also been pumped to try Banh Mi since I discovered its existence on our planet. I have to say that I enjoyed it, but was not blown away. I would like to try it again at a legitimate, non-English speaking Vietnamese place, but this Americanized version was not bad. Alesia definitely seems like a sweet place to grab a healthy lunch when you're near the beach, but not necessarily looking for your typical beach cuisine. It's located in a part of town that's not very restaurant-heavy so it's an obvious choice.

    Really cute place. Nice ambiance, good food. Love the indoor and the outdoor ambiance. I'm Vietnamese, so I'm not really an asian fusion lover, but the French-Vietnamese is pretty authentic. The Mi Vit Tiem is AMAZING! I'd definitely recommend. Super flavorful and delicious. Even better when you enjoy it in their outdoor seating with the lights. Cute date night spot. The asian beef stew and pho are a little meh...only because they don't have all of the fresh herbs that I usually like to accompany mine.

    Went there for dinner because of the reviews. Had noodle soup with roast duck inside, and husband ordered the sirloin ribs. Both delicious. Appetizers (prosciutto platter and pan fried dumplings) also didn't disappoint. We sat outside and it was quite and nice.

    There is nothing I can ding them on. The place is modern and immaculately clean. It has very clean, fresh lines and is quite airy. The menu is laid out nicely and everything is incredibly priced. I have a cold so I opted for a bowl of hot pho. The portion was what I'm use to receiving at a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. The shredded chicken was moist and flavorful. The fresh herbs made it that much more wonderful. If I was feeling better or if I was dining with a guest I would have ordered the summer rolls and topped it off with a bread pudding....next time.

    My girlfriend and I visited Alesia last night. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, based mostly on the awesome reviews here on Yelp. The restaurant was not crowded at all on a Tuesday evening. We chose to sit outside on the lovely patio, next to the bamboo fountain, as the sun was setting so the evening was beginning to cool off a bit. Our server was extremely cordial and attentive and I didn't feel like we waited very long on a single thing all evening, from drinks, to appetizers and salads, to our entrees, and then dessert. Everything came very promptly but we didn't feel rushed at all. We shared a carafe of the green tea and it was very refreshing with a light citrus hint. It was quite warm, and when our server noticed that the ice in the carafe and our glasses was basically gone, she brought us fresh glasses of ice without us even asking. So nice to get great service. For appetizers we shared the shrimp summer rolls with pork and the prosciutto salad. The summer rolls (with a peanut dipping sauce) were light and delicious, but the prosciutto salad was AMAZING. Our server even brought it divided into two plates since she knew we were sharing (and we had not asked for that). Again, wonderful service. I think that the prosciutto salad, with candied pecans, cranberries, spinach and a balsamic reduction was possibly the best salad I have ever had. For entrees, I chose the baby bok choy with shrimp added, and my friend chose the open-faced roasted vegetable sandwich. The bok choy dish was again, light and tasty, and my friend said that her sandwich was great. Since all of our food was light, we felt like we had room for dessert and decided to share the walnut and banana bread pudding which comes with vanilla bean ice cream. It was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. From atmosphere, to service, to the food...everything was just lovely. I must return soon!

    The short ribs were tasty. The pho did not come with the standard bean sprouts and cilantro that accompany on a separate dish to combine. Not really a Vietnamese restaurant. More like a Vietnamese inspired, fusion kind of place. If you expect authentic Vietnamese, I would recommend a different place. However, the outside patio has very nice and romantic ambiance with the lighting. I wouldn't recommend taking young children, as they do not offer much selection nor coloring menus that you'd normally get offered.

They do what every great restaurant should do. They cook and serve what they know. Reasonable pricing and fresh food. You will kick yourself for not trying it.

    I am one not to write a bad review. My philosophy is that you want to promote those that are doing well. I am an avid lover of Asian cuisine. And I also work in the hospitality service as well. The place is beautiful. Inside dining as well as the outdoor dining was something I usually see in bigger cities. The servers were very nice as well. I understand that the place is a considered "fusion". I ordered an egg noodle dish with duck. When I received my meal, the broth was delicious. Upset that the duck was served as a leg and not shredded, I would consider that my own qualms and not the restaurants fault. Although as I got more into my dish, I started realizing that there were components I had not recognized before. I asked a server walking by, and she had no clue. She said she would come back and let me know. I realized this evening it was busy, so I didn't want to bother her. Our actual server came by to check on us, and he didn't know either. Which puzzled me. The dish itself did not have that many components. Finally after a while, he came back and let me see the ingredient list. The food was delicious, but I think the staff should be a little knowledgeable on the food that they are serving. Other than that, I would love to go back and try their entire menu.

    A local family owned and operated establishment that offers a delicious combination of Vietnamese and Parisian cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere with a unique ambiance that you will not find anywhere else in the area. Additionally, the presence of the owners on premises working to prepare and expedite food ensures the best quality and care for the food and ensuring a great customer experience. We started with crispy Vietnamese spring rolls fried just right and tried the iced Vietnamese drip coffee and Boba tea. For entrees we order Bun and traditional Banh mi. The pork skewers with the Bun were moist, tender and full of flavor. I ordered the traditional, spicy, Banh mi. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside and definitely had a spicy kick. All in all we left feeling very satisfied, getting an awesome meal for a great price. This is definitely someplace we will come back to time and time again.

    This place had amazing pho! It's hard to impress me with that as I have asian family that also cooks their own pho recipie. Wow, excellent atmosphere on the patio, beautiful lighting and very relaxing. The summer rolls were really good and meaty. The pho was the best broth that I have ever tasted. I like the scaled down decor inside the restaurant, it felt very urban. Finished dinner with a chocolate crossiant and it was an amazingly delicious experience! I will come back and also suggest this place to others in the area.

    I want to eat my way through their entire menu! Having grown up with a lot of French-Vietnamese I was excited to try this place with some friends a couple weeks ago. Before I go on - it was a Friday night and the parking lot and street parking right next to the restaurant were full around 7:30. I had to park 3 blocks away. I wish I had known we could have parked in the cleaners parking lot after they close. Oh well. So my first trip in I tried the bbq pork banh mi (asked for sort of spicy and got it), shared the prosciutto salad, and worked my way through the egg rolls. I paired all of this with a Vietnamese drip coffee because I haven't had one in, well, forever. The banh mi was pretty standard, though it was a filling sandwich. The meat was definitely seasoned, the veggies on it were fresh, and the sauce stuff had a nice bite to it. I split the salad with a friend and it was simple but tasty. Prosciutto on top of spinach, balsamic vinaigrette, some kind of candied nut, and some dried berries/fruit of some kind. It was sweet, salty, and acidic all at once so of course I would love it. Lastly, the egg rolls. I'm very hesitant to order egg rolls at new places. I've had enough -meh- ones that I rarely order them. So, I asked the waitress if they were heavy on the shrimp or if it was more pork (I'm not a fan of seafood but I can deal with it in small doses... hidden by pork). Her response was along the lines of "well, they're not super shrimpy" so I figured I would give it a shot. They were definitely not shrimpy. A long time ago a Vietnamese woman passed on her recipe for egg rolls (nems) and it's my standard comparison. They had the same filling ingredients, same kind of sauce, but these ones were made with a wheat wrapper instead of a rice one. I understand why (wheat ones don't seem to tear or explode in the fryer as much as the delicate rice ones), so I let it pass. The only thing that could make it better is if it was served with fresh mint and lettuce for me to wrap it up in. I made it a point to come back again and try other things I missed out on. The shrimp chips are standard, but they're served with an apple salsa here. Don't let it confuse or deter you, the salsa is a surprisingly good pair. I then ordered the bun with pork skewers. This is actually a fairly large meal. A bowl of chilled noodles, lettuce, peanuts a big ol' pile of pork, and the fish sauce. I could easily have it once a week and not get tired of it. The pork had some kind of sticky glaze on it that mixed in with the fish sauce really well and just made me a happy camper. Lastly, because I could spot the food leaving the kitchen, I saw something sweet that I needed to try. The fried banana wontons. There were 5 of them served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with honey and sesame seeds. As a non-chocolate consumer, this made me incredibly happy. It was light and tasty, and the perfect option for sharing. I would eat that again in a heartbeat.

    Ahh Alésia, how I adore this place! I've never had anything I didn't like from here---and I've discovered a love for Vietnamese drip coffee! Yummm... Their noodle dishes, whether it's the pho, or chicken with glass noodles, are soo good that I will gladly chow down on a huge steamy bowl, even on a hot day! Also, save room for dessert! Whether you go for the melty, chocolatey goodness of the fondue--or aim for something different like the banana wontons, you won't be disappointed. Dang, I'm getting a craving for the latter as I type this... The atmosphere is bright and fresh on the inside, and tranquil and serene in the courtyard. This is definitely where I like to go for lunch out with the girls! They never rush you out, and it's just a nice place to hang out at. Oh, and the service is some of the best I've seen anywhere. All of the servers seem to work in a team, so your food gets brought out to you as soon as it's ready, even if your server is momentarily preoccupied with taking an order at another table. It's awesome; I wish more places were like that! If you've never had Vietnamese food before, it's definitely a safe place to get a first taste of it from. I had never had pho before trying it at this place, and it's opened up a new cuisine for me, so I've since tried other Vietnamese places. ^_^

    This is the first time that I will rate a restaurant based on atmosphere over food quality... Only because Alesia calms me and brings me to a happy place on either a sunny or cloudy day. The open space and coffee-house vibe is like a muse, where you can have a slow morning and/or even get some creative work done. The service is a little off, since most of the wait-staff appears to be newbies fumbling around trying to understand where they are--- and what casual Vietnamese and French food actually is comprised of. The Vietnamese dishes, while decent, are Americanized in some way. Ingredients are left out, the items are a little more bland, and sometimes different vegetables are used (like; bell pepper or mushrooms). My main food problem is the bread. For both Vietnamese and French food--- the baguette is king. At Alesia, they serve one kind of baguette and it is somehow incorporated into 75% of the dishes. For example; we ordered the Bo Kho (Beef Stew with Baguette for dipping), soup served with sliced baguette on the side, and the "Traditional" sandwich on baguette. The baguettes here taste like the pre-frozen loaf variety. While still often crispy, you can taste the flavors absorbed from the freezer and some of the preservatives. So they take an average grade baguette and put some really high quality meat, cheese, and vegetables on top--- does that make the situation any better? The prices are low considering the surroundings and adjacent neighborhood. The outdoor patio area is large and beautifully decorated with plenty of shade. I highly recommend giving them a try, especially if you are new to Vietnamese food scene.

    Cute frenchy Viet place. Decor is nice and cozy with lots of wood. Food had surprising flavors. I'm a bit skeptical when the place is nice looking. I was pleasantly surprised to find the flavors were yummy!! We ordered egg rolls, wonton noodle soup or mi wan ton, back ribs, and baby pho ga for the kids. Everything tasted amazingly fabulous minus the pho. Yuck! Totally bland. Kind of watered down weak broth for pho. But my wonton noodle soup's broth was soooo good! If I wasn't so full already, I would have drank the whole bowl dry. Hubby said his ribs were good, I had a bite and thought it was gingery. Good if you like ginger, bad if you don't. Oh and my milk tea there was yummy!

    I LOVE Vietnamese food so I have to say I have HIGH standards for it. This place was cute, trendy, service was good, but to me I came for the food. The food was like Vietnamese food a white housewife would make for dinner in the 1950's: beautiful presentation, but NOT not authentic; VERY Americanized and bland. I say all this being a 35 year old white woman who has had the privilege of having lived near some amazing Vietnamese restaurants and having dinner at my Vietnamese friends homes. I make a meaner spring roll than this place did! They didn't even have any herbs in there! I had just finished moving and was tired and craving Bun and spring rolls like crazy. To say the least I was disappointed. Maybe their pastries and french cuisine is good(?) don't know. This place is cute & trendy and the kind of place 24 year olds have a drink at with their girlfriends. I love their decor. But for me it's all about the food :-) I will not be going back :-(

    Excellent meal. We started with the vegetarian spring rolls - fresh and delicious. I had mì vit tiem - a yummy soup with a duck leg, bok choy and mushrooms. My husband had the bun with grilled pork skewers. Both were delicious - but I think the broth in mine was the hands down winner.

    I absolutely loved this place the moment I walked in. It's a very airy and comfortable restaurant set up like a cafe. There's French and Vietnamese dishes to pick from their menu and I must say the egg rolls and pho is the best I've ever had at any restaurant. I really recommend this place! The interior is very adorable and I felt like I was able to relax here. The waitress are pretty nice and the food was served up fast and hot. It's honestly the best place I've been to recently and wish it was closer to me. Check this place out!!!

    I went here with my husband when we were on our way to saint Pete beach because I was craving pho. This place was amazing- best pho I've had and I loved the sauces that came with it. Our waitress was also very good. I did notice there were a few people periodically coming in for take-out and they seemed to be regulars. Will be back again soon.

    Love Love Love this place!!! I have tried Saturday brunch and dinner...both times I had great experiences. I ordered the smoked salmon platter from sat brunch and my husband ordered the smoked salmon croissant. We both enjoyed them! For dinner, we had the charcuterier platter for an appetizer. The plate had good amount of salamis and proscuittos to share for a reasonable price. For entrees, we had the Chinese short ribs, which was absolutely amazing! Loved the potato and meat. They both melt in your mouth. We also ordered the Pho everyone seems to love, which I found was good but not great. Now when you come to this restaurant, you have to order their dessert menus. We have tried their crepes and bread pudding. Both amazing! I strongly recommend the bread pudding. With your dessert, order a cup of latte or Vietnamese drip coffee and you will be in heaven :)

    Another great meal! This time we had Bun....it was awesome. You get thin sliced marinated pork, marinated shrimp, a bowl of special broth and cilantro, with noodles, lettuce in the bowl...you add the pork, shrimp, sauce and cilantro yourself....mix and eat. Pork was truly excellent, and the shrimp marinate was tasty as well. As usual the service was better than excellent. They get a nice looking crowd in here, and it was busy last night. It is in my top 3 restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.

    I'm starting to see that some of St. Pete's neatest places are in some of the most random parts of town. There's not a ton else to do in the area near Jungle Prada, but Alésia is enough to draw you to this west part of Central Ave. The atmosphere is really pretty and clean with lots of wood and stainless steel. The art on the walls is beautiful. I'm a huge sucker for Asian cuisine, and the menu has plenty of options to satisfy that. I look forward to getting dinner on my next visit and sitting in their really pretty garden patio, but for this trip I got the breakfast sandwich (egg and bacon on croissant), tomato bisque soup, a carafe of iced green tea, and for dessert almond bread pudding. Everything was scrumdiddlyumptious. The bisque has a really smooth spiciness to it which I think was roasted red pepper. The croissant of my sandwich was buttery, flakey, goodness. I opted for the bread pudding, enticed by a side a homemade ice cream. The ice cream actually out-shined the pudding a bit; I've also had better bread puddings, but still a pretty sweet offering--haha get it, sweeeet. The other desserts looked really good, so I look forward to coming here again!

    Great restaurant, but a little disappointed by the lack of french options for dinner. Mostly noodles for dinner it seems like. Sweet crepes are on point and the Vietnamese Drip Coffee (hot) tastes delicious. For starters, the Charcuterie platter was perfect. The pesto was not an oily mess. It was very refreshing. For dinner, the recommended Pho was delicious (thanks Yelpers!). Partner got the Ratatouille Nicoise, nothing to rave too much about, but it was tasty. Overall, definitely recommend going here. It can get very loud however, given the open seating style inside. If you go for dinner and the weather permits, the outside seating area looks nice with all the lights. The entire decor is pretty clean and simple. Nice ambiance.

    This was quite the find. It's not often are whole family agrees to come back again. The Vietnamese dishes were very good and full of flavor but not quite authentic. The french onion soup had a unique flavor. Don't forget to leave room for dessert! I feel the quality of the food matched the prices. We will definitely be returning soon.

    I am a fan of this restaurant but only for certain items. Alesia's is reliable for their soups, bread, coffee, and chocolate mousse. I have tried several of their salads with very limited satisfaction. Most recently, I had the Farmer's Salad that was on special. I have tried the Prosciutto Salad as well. Where's the beef? My husband tried the Asian Style Beef Stew, it was 2 lbs. of noddles with one pound of carrots and one ounce of beef! He felt shorted by the lack of meat ( a fatty cut) and guilty about the amount of noodles that he ended up throwing away. My husband was insulted because he felt the loading up of noodles was used to hide the fact of so little meat and to justify the price. The Short Ribs and Sirloin Back Ribs were of decent quality, we tried them once. All in all, Alesia's needs to work on consistency since they shine in a few areas but lack in many others.

    Great find! Our family of 7 had a reasonably priced filling meal. I loved my pho, my boys enjoyed the bun, and my vegetarian daughter was happy with the bok Choy and tofu. The spring rolls (vegetarian and pork) were a great starter for us. The peanut sauce was delicious. Very nice setting!

    I haven't yelped in a while since I have been very busy with school, but felt the need to commend this restaurant. I was driving down Central Avenue one afternoon and noticed this absolutely charming restaurant, I grabbed my coworker and headed over for lunch. I immediately loved the atmosphere, it was not loud at all and the service was great! I love going into a restaurant and have the server be knowledgeable on the dishes and ingredients when asked. The prices were great for the portions they provided, I cant wait to go there for dinner soon!

    I had a great experience at Alesia this past week with a friend. We went for dinner and the Yelpers are right, it is awesome. Our server was very friendly and anticipated our needs, such as splitting the salad we ordered to share. They serve iced green tea by the carafe and it is wonderful with hints of citrus flavors. Every item on the menu suggests a wine pairing, which I always appreciate. The wine selection is nice and varied and the prices are reasonable. The prices are right so we shared and appetizer, salad and dessert and each had an entree. Everything was as described and tasted great. I had the roasted veggie sandwich - the bread was soft, the veggies perfectly roasted, the cheese oooey gooey and the sauce completed the dish. My friend had the baby bok choy with shrimp and basil and I will consider this on a future visit. She enjoyed the favor profile and lightness. For dessert we went for the bread pudding with banana and walnuts, they serve it warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was good, but I will try another dessert next time as they had many interesting choices. I wanted to see the brunch menu, but forgot to ask. Based on this visit I can only imagine it will be wonderful. I can't wait to go back soon!!

    The food is very high quality and presented beautifully. I got the vegetarian open-face sandwich. It was great, but I wished it had been a little larger. I was a little disappointed by the lack of vegetarian Vietnamese dishes. It would have been great if there was a vegetarian pho or banh mi.

    Had dinner with a friend on Thurs evening. Both of us would give a top rating for food, service, and ambience. Prices are reasonable for this fusion of French/Vietnamese cuisine--interesting menu. Leave room for dessert--fabulous choice. What is particularly winning about this restaurant is that one is able to have a conversation inside the large airy dining area indoors without having to shout over a hubbub that often is the case in many restaurants. Most enjoyable meal. I had pumpkin bisque, Chinese ribs served with rice, and pumpkin bread pudding with ice-cream; my companion ordered the pot-stickers, pho, and brownie with ice-cream. We were both happy and will return!

    Interesting especially so for Pinellas county. French/Viet cuisine wuth some unusual combinations. Top 50 Tampa restaurant list. Atmosphere 80 Stark, convrete floors, art gallery settng. SoHo like. Service 75 Okay. Food 80 Mainly for being something different Value 75 You get what you pay for. Worth the visit because it is as far from this part of Florida as you can get. One word of caution... every metro area in the country has dozens of similar eateries. This one happens to be in St. Pete which makes it special for us.

    Rib sandwich was delicious but not a lot of meat. The salty cheese mixed with the sweetness of the ribs made for a balanced flavor. Summer rolls came in pairs. Your choice from shrimp and chicken or pork. Decent size and larger than the Cheesecake Factory ones. The bowl of won-ton soup was flavorful, but lacked meat.

    Beef stew is a comfort food in most every nation. I favor Cuban guisado and Vietnamese bo kho. I had read the glowing reviews for Alesia and had driven past always noting a full parking lot. Today I finally made it. As soon as I entered I felt I had found the place I always sought. Waxed pine Shaker type chairs and tables sit on a cement floor. The walls are stark white with paintings looking like Modigliani after many Mai Tais. The patio is only adorned with tall bamboo and one flowering bush. Perhaps country French goes to Japan best describes the decor. The servers are polite and prompt. I ordered goi cuon and bo kho. The goi cuon was mostly shredded iceburg lettuce wrapped in thin rice paper. Easily the worst I ever had. The bo kho was more carrot stew than beef stew. The meager chunks of beef were lean and tender but so were the many carrots. The noodles had clumped together making it difficult to eat. The broth was light and excellent except perhaps too delicately flavored. The bread tasted like it was fresh from the grocer's freezer. I had planned to get a bahn mi to go but at $8.50 it was over twice as much as any I ever had anywhere. I regret that for me Alesia does not live up to its reviews. I never understood why reviewers say they rate with a half star. I do now as Alesia is a two and a half.

    My wife and I have been coming here since it opened in 2011. We used to come weekly and then tapered off a bit coming every few weeks. Recently our visits have been a bit of a letdown. We feel that the quality of the food has deteriorated - it is still good but no longer wows us. The menu has essentially not changed very much since the beginning and the prices have gone up considerably. We still will go there but won't go out of our way - other restaurants are calling us.

    4.7/5.0 Alesia Restaurant definitely lives up to the Yelp hype! Even though we visited at an off time, the place was busy. It took a while to get seated and the service was a bit spotty, but the food more than made up for it. We had the egg rolls, summer rolls. Banh Mi, & Pho. Everything we tried was excellent, fresh, and very tasty. The standouts were the summer rolls (see picture) and the Pho (see picture). The Alesia Pho was similar to a rare beef noodle soup that you would find in a traditional Vietnamese restaurant, but masterfully prepared by a careful chef. It had a Rich elegant broth teeming with fresh vegetables. If you order it, you will finish every last drop. The atmosphere is nice and has a good vibe. The prices are reasonable (expect them to go up in the very near future). It's great to see a solid restaurant in this part of St. Pete. The owners have done a great job. We look forward to coming back and trying other items!     Very nice restaurant in St. Pete. My wife and I took part in restaurant week there. For $25 total, we got the charcuterie plate, 2 entrees (proscuitto salad and asian stew) and the chocolate fondue for dessert. All of it was very tasty and spiced well. The restaurant is decorated in a simple fashion with white walls and various paintings for sale on the wall. Waitresses were very nice with speedy service. Overall, great value, great food, great service.

    A+ for nice decor and super friendly wait staff. One of the owners came by to check on us which is always nice. The food here is not super traditional Vietnamese but it is very good. I ordered a Vietnamese ice coffee and the pork bun and also shared some egg rolls for an appetizer. The ice coffee was great, just the right amount of sweetness to it. The egg rolls were very good but are NOT served in the traditional Vietnamese style with lettuce, pickled daikon and carrots, etc, on the side. I prefer to eat egg rolls with these traditional sides and make a little wrap, but I understand many Americans are not used to eating egg rolls like this. The pork bun was also very good and also a little unconventional. The dish is brought out in two parts, noodles and veggies in one bowl with pork skewers brought out on a second plate. I can see why they showcase the protein this way because the pork was truly excellent, very juicy and tender and well marinated. I was a little disappointed that there were no bean sprouts in with the noodles and other veggies, that would have really completed the dish for me. Overall I definitely would recommend this place. Personally I do prefer a little bit more traditional preparation when it comes to Vietnamese food (FYI, I am half Vietnamese), but I still really enjoyed eating at Alesia.

    My best friend and I went to eat here last night, and we were very impressed. We first ordered coffee and the potsticker app, then I had the sirloin back rib dish, and my friend had the pho. I can honestly say that it was some of the best quality food that we have had in a long while. Oh, and we also had banana spring rolls for dessert, which were sooo sweet and yummy. The wait staff was friendly and knew the menu, and the food was fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something new and delicious! :)

    Well, as usual this place still rocks! The GF and I hit it for dinner early last week and figured now that the snowbirds and spring breakers are gone we could probably get a table around 7ish and we were right. Of course it was a nice evening so the patio was a bit full but I tend to go for the inside dining room most of the time. You know your a regular when the entire wait staff knows you well enough to bring out your drink order and usual appertizers, spring rolls and fresh spring rolls without asking...:) Of course we keep them guessing on dinner orders because they usually have interesting specials on the board each day and being that the kitchen knows what they are doing when it comes to being creative, I usually tend to try a special and have yet to be dissapointed. The owner usually comes over each time we are here and asks how we are doing and likes to get our take on the food which we do give her kudo's on all the time. As I said it before, if your looking for a great new place to try out do yourself a favor and try this little gem out, I guarantee it.....you will be back! Service, food, cleanliness and charm are on point!

    We had a bad experience. I reviewed the menu prior to arriving and was ready to order the hen knowing it states on the menu "make sure to allow 15-17 min." We got there on a friday night (my fiancee and I). It was a moderately busy time, not all seats where taken but a majority was. So we ordered. Appetizers came out quick as well as drinks, (5-10 min), and the cheese platter we ordered was very good. The problem came with our entrees. We ordered and waited atleast 30-40 min. nonetheless it never came out and other groups received their meals. Apparantly the reason was, the back of the house (kitchen) messed up the order... somewhere along the lines of "big party" and "messed up." whatever the case, we were cleared from paying, that is they made sure we did not pay anything on the bill, which was very nice and of course what service is about. We decided to leave in order to catch a concert in downtown. My fiancee ordered a coffee and they made sure we didn't pay for that. The bad part is we really wanted to try the food after reading all these reviews. my summary (BASED ONLY ON THIS EXPERIENCE) Pros: Good environment, clean, modern, appetizers was good Cons: Entree orders were messed up and never came to our table. 1 star was given because restaurants should not be making mistakes like these. Although I would like to come back here, my fiancee was livid and told me in the car "I will never come back here." So, good luck with your business. Our waitress was nice, we liked her a lot.

    Everything I have ever had at this restaurant has been delicious. The place is cute, the wait staff is kind and knowledgeable, and the food-- well, I think I am in love with it. The last two times I've been- we ordered the summer rolls with chicken and the pot stickers. The summer rolls come with this peanut sauce that I think I could eat by the spoonful (actually, I know I can -- because I have). I've ordered the mi vit tiem-- which is essentially a noodle soup served with roast duck. It was awesome. Probably some of the best duck I've ever had. I loved the flavor of the broth too. I've also gotten the bun with shrimp and pork. This is probably my favorite thing on the menu. The pork is so tasty-- I have no idea what they put on it but it's really really REALLY good. My BF got the short ribs last time and they were amazing as well. The potato on the plate was equally delicious. I really can't fault them for anything. Their desserts are top notch as well. I think I've tried at least a bite of every dessert on the menu. The chocolate mousse is the perfect size for me so I think that's my favorite. I highly recommend this place.

    I've been hearing SO many good things about this restaurant that couldn't WAIT to get a night out to try it - and we were not disappointed. Atmosphere was awesome - I love places that embrace good design, and everything from the website to the decor was spot-on: fresh, modern, simple, lovely. I knew we were in for a treat. The service was fantastic: attentive, kind and speedy. I love restaurants that send your food out with whomever's available to deliver it so it doesn't sit and get cold in the kitchen. Everything was awesome, drinks were never empty. Food: the first thing we noticed were the prices. CHEAP! I couldn't believe that I was seeing apps in the $4-6 range and dinners starting around $9. The choices all looked delicious, but we were here for one thing that we'd heard about over and over: the pho. We ordered the summer rolls with peanut sauce as an app, then split the prosciutto salad (which might be the best salad I've ever had, ever). We both ordered pho, with lean beef. The broth was slightly sweet and very flavorful, full of fresh veggies and little bits of heaven. My husband actually picked his bowl up and drank from it to finish the broth. Delicious. We're excited to go back when the weather is a little cooler to enjoy their twinkly-lit back porch and try a few more delicious entrees. Overall, a great addition to St. Pete's bare west side!!

    The first overall clean Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. Maybe because it's Americanized. But I love the ambiance. It's like you're in a leisurely town in France somewhere. Its a mix of Vietnamese and French cuisine. The menu was short and simple which made it quick and easy to choose from unlike the normal Vietnamese restaurant where you have to thumb through 200 items to decide what you want. The summer rolls were great along with the peanut sauce that comes with it. Its more peanuttier than normal, but that's fine with me because I love peanut butter! The Pho was pretty authentic with all the right flavors in it. I just feel like it could be a bit more flavorful because it seemed a little watered down. The chicken and shrimp egg noodle was interesting. Mine was missing the shrimp in it, which was weird. Oh well. It was pretty salty which kind of overpowered the whole broth. Service was great. Overall great experience. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes.

    I've been wanting to try this place forever. But every time I want to go there for dinner it's already past 8 p.m. and they close at 9 p.m. Finally, I remembered them one Saturday when thinking of places to go for lunch. First off there's not much parking and the parking lot requires a few three point turns to get out of. But luckily we found the last spot available as we pulled in. They have an adorable courtyard area, but it was hot so we opted for air conditioning. The decor is lovely and simple. White walls with colorful artwork by what seem to be local artists. The wood tables and chairs give the room a homey, welcoming feel. There's even a long table in the middle that is used as a community table. Our waitress was very friendly and nice and just the right amount of attentive. It took a little while to get our drinks, but after that everything was paced fine. We started with an iced Vietnamese coffee for him and a hot jasmine tea for me. My boyfriend deemed the coffee "perfect", but the glass they gave him was so small he finished it in 3 sips. My tea was great and I loved the steeper/cup combo it came in. For apps we shared the shrimp chips and the summer rolls. The shrimp chips were great, but nothing special as we know you can get a bag of these addicting babies at any korean grocery store for a few bucks. But it came served with a house made apple salsa that was a surprisingly awesome pairing. The summer rolls were also good. Very fresh, but they needed thai basil desperately. For entrees I got the traditional banh mi and he got the croque madame. I love Thuy Cafe for banh mis so am always comparing others to them. This wasn't as good as Thuy Cafe, but it was pretty darn close. The bread was eh, but the meat and aioli they topped it with was eyes-rolling-in-the-back-of-your-head good. I tried a bite of the croque madame and it was very good and very bad for you tasting. I've never had one before so I don't have anything to compare it too. My boyfriend said it was spot on though. Overall we really enjoyed our experience at Alesia and will definitely go back. There are so many other things on the menu that I want to try and that's a good problem to have! One side note was that the tables don't have tablecloths or placemats and the room is very echoy...so when plates are set down abruptly they ring throughout the room. I could see how this place could get noicy when it's full.

    This was a perfect day to eat lunch outside in the patio area. We enjoyed the crisp egg rolls for an appetizer. The grilled pork bahn mi was delicious (I order mine spicy with extra jalapeño peppers) and my husband enjoyed the pho, which is layered with so many flavors. We also enjoyed a pitcher of green tea to share. Patrick was our cheerful server today.

    Oh! I come here many times! I have to say the best service that I have never seen before! I order vermicelli with an add-on sunny shine egg. They forgot the egg when the food come out. I'm a server in a restaurant , too, so I understand and it's not a big deal for me. But they still took the whole thing off my check. When i saw my check, I'm like why you guy took $12 off because of an egg ($1.5). I love this place.

    Looking forward to my next visit! Unfortunately the location is a bit of a hike for lunch or dinner coming from Tampa (home) but next time I'm headed to St. Pete Beach I will plan on a little extra time to stop in once again! My husband and I decided on Alesia for lunch on Friday after spending the morning and early afternoon at the beach. When we arrived around 1:30 in the afternoon the restaurant was about half-full inside and only 3 parties dined outside on the patio. Despite arriving after the lunch rush had ended, the parking lot was completely full and we had some difficulty finding street parking. Since we don't know the area, we weren't too sure about parking on the side streets but luckily when our patience was starting to wear out, we found a spot on 1st Ave (where parking laws are clearly marked) after circling the block a few times. We were promptly seated on the lovely patio, as we requested to dine al fresco, and were given plenty of time to peruse the menu without being rushed by our friendly waitress. My husband decided on the (traditional) Bahn Mi and I went for a bowl of the Pho (with lean beef). Although we both adore French cuisine, the Vietnamese flavors were calling to us this day and we were both pleased with our selections. My husband's sandwich was presented on a very crisp, fresh French baguette and was just spicy enough without allowing the sriracha to overwhelm the other flavors. My pho was excellent and a very large portion size - far too much for one person, I think, but my husband didn't mind helping me out with that. I'll readily admit to not being a connoisseur of Vietnamese food, so I can't comment on authenticity, but we sure enjoyed our meals, and especially the prices - our selections ran us about $7 a piece for lunch. Also of note, Alesia allows you to BYOB for a $10 corkage fee - reasonable, I think. To sum it up: the flavorful food and lovely patio atmosphere along with the clean, airy design of the restaurant and reasonable prices were my favorite parts of the experience. I think the service could have been better - our original waitress ended her shift after taking our order so we were assisted by a total of three servers, leading to some minor communication and continuity issues as a result. Also, the parking situation was such a nuisance and I can only imagine that it is probably far worse at peak lunch and dinner times. Those are the only reasons I would take away one star from our experience, other than that it was a wonderful treat! Next time I will be sure to save a little room to try the Nutella & banana crepe for dessert :-)

    I love this place!! FIrst of all, the best best potstickers I have ever tasted - you get 6 of them and won't want to share!!! Egg rolls are great also! Then the pho which is a noodle dish served with grilled shrimp and pork skewers on the side and add it to the noodles and add the sauce and taste sensation!!! Perfectly seasoned and just love the cuteness of the place and the prices can't be beat!!

    Had lunch there today with my wife. We have eaten here several times over the last couple of years and it has always been very good. Just returned from up north so today was the first time this season. Very dissapointing. The bun with pork has gone down hill . In the past it always had a fair share of chopped vegetables and ample herbs, Thai basil , mint and cilantro and the sauce was very nice and spicy. Today's version had no vegetables, one measly spike of cilantro , the sauce lacked any taste and the pork was fatty ,over cooked and not spicy like in the past.. Loved this place in the past but it looks as though some cost cutting measures on both the plate and in the kitchen dictate what is being served today. Oh what a shame .Will not return

    One of the best meals you can get in town. We have been there twice and cannot wait to go back! The four of us went there on a Saturday night and sat outside. We started out with a great but inexpensive bottle of wine and a very affordable cheese plate. For entrees, I had a great duck dish - so big and tasty, with a large portion of duck. My wife had the croque madam - also great. Our friends had other, fantastic dishes. We also had a great dessert - nutella crepes. Service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is great - clean and modern. The prices are extremely reasonable - cheap, really. I just wish it were downtown, where we live. We recommend it to everyone - we are very lucky to have such a big city, modern restaurant come to Da' Burg.

    Good -- very good at times-- but a solid good. I'd give it higher marks if it was more reasonably priced when it comes to pho and some of their other traditional Vietnamese favorites. Terrific wines. Okay service. Creative interpretations... Actually, very tasty braised pork. Wonderful ambiance. Try it out, but be prepared to spend on what should be simple, cheap food. I will say the broth for the soups is outstanding!

    Great mix of flavors. Everything was wonderful. From the summer roll that my kids loved - that's always a good sign. To the smoked salmon sandwich, hot dog, blt, and bun with bok choi. Everything was a winner. Service was fast and friendly. This is a winner.

    We wanted to eat something different to all the fried stuff this evening. And well, it worked out perfectly. Nice atmosphere and decoration. Delicious food, even our seven year old boy rated it extremely good. Everything we ate (soup, starters, vegetarian, chicken and banana dessert) was excellent. So a clear recommendation.
